Surfaces: NYC Pipe Dreams

I am trying to compress three-dimensional space into a two-dimensional surface.

These are the pipes running along the R-train tracks in Astoria and Long Island City, Queens (New York City).

I used the R train fifty weeks out of the year for more than 7 years as to-and-fro transport between a Formica cubicle in a Manhattan Corporation and a sheet-rock box (an apartment bedroom) in Astoria, Queens.

The NYC Pipe Dreams series reflects the spiritual entrapment and the unending flux of physical movement experienced while living and working in New York City.
